  • WiNET Decoding Option for UWBTracer

LeCroy now offers full support for decoding WiNET protocol using the UWBTracer analyzer. WiNet is a protocol adaptation layer (PAL) that adds TCP/IP services to the WiMedia UWB common radio platform. WiNET devices are built on the same MAC-PHY layer as Certified Wireless USB. This allows developers to leverage the economies of scale for Wireless USB chipsets and tap the ubiquitous IP stack to create new wireless applications in the PC and CE markets. The ability to view WiNet traffic using LeCroy’s CATC Trace display makes it easy for development teams to understand and verify WiNET specific events within a recording. The UWBTracer will capture and decode WiNET upper-level protocols including:

    IPv4 & IPv6
    TCP
    UDP
    ARP

Full decoding of IP Headers including Source and Destination Port

Device OEMs will find it invaluable to view TCP transfers encapsulated in WiNET frames. It will also be essential to test Wireless USB and WiNET technologies together and ensure their mutual operation in the WiMedia ecosystem.

Offering WiNET as an option for its UWBTracer analyzer allows development teams to invest in the LeCroy platform with the confidence that they can easily upgrade the system to support WiNET and other enhancements in the WiMedia protocol. WiNET support makes the UWBTracer the most comprehensive platform for testing WiMedia based silicon, systems and software.
